"The only way to do great work is to love what you do"

Sarah Railton, RPF

I am a Registered Professional Forester in British Columbia [RPF 4795] and Alberta [RPF 1592]. A great love of forests and fish brought me to Terrace in 2011 and I have enjoyed the opportunity to work in the Skeena, Nass, Stikine, and Kitimat watersheds over the past years. After spending six years working for major licensees and a mid-size consulting firm (three years in Alberta and three years in BC), I established Naiad Stewardship Solutions with the goal of providing conscientious high quality consulting services to the natural resource management sector.

My experience is diverse and includes many aspects of operational forestry with an emphasis on silviculture planning, budgeting, implementation and quality control, harvest supervision and log quality assessments, installation and removal of watercourse crossings, resource valuation, preparation of Site Plans, danger tree assessments, cutblock planning and layout, pipeline and power line vegetation management, and electronic submissions required by government. In addition to operational forestry experience I have a background in the areas of site reclamation and remediation, negotiation and communications with stakeholders and governments, Indigenous-led Land Use and Stewardship Planning, development of land-based carbon offset projects, data management, and workforce training.
